In an attempt to increase parent-teacher communication, this blog was created for YOU.We plan to use it throughout the year to provide announcements, updates on learning, recaps of activities, and just general information. It will be updated a minimum of once a week, but the goal is for more! The beginning of the school year is always a busy time, so please be lenient with us as we get in the habit of writing and updating!
Note: We plan to post pictures of our learning and other activities on the blog regularly, so if you prefer that your child's picture not be online, please let us know as soon as possible!
We had a wonderful first day with your children. We are so blessed by the group of kids that we've been given. Each one brings so much personality, energy, and joy to our group. It's clear that it is going to be a great year!
This upcoming week we will be working a lot on following rules and routines, getting used to the schedule, assessing students' academic levels, and learning!
Our topics for this week are:
Science: Animals
Bible: Creation
Math: "Math All Around Me" Project
Reading: Phonemic Awareness (Letter Sounds) and Basic Phonics (1st Grade will also be discussing Characters and Setting!)
